Geminid meteor shower over Bitlis

The Geminids meteor shower, one of the most spectacular celestial events of the year, created unforgettable scenes in the skies over Bitlis in eastern Türkiye, offering a visual feast for skywatchers as the year draws to a close.

The bright trails left by the meteors as they entered Earth’s atmosphere were clearly visible against Bitlis’s dark and crystal-clear night sky. Experts note that the Geminids Meteor Shower reaches its peak every year in mid-December and can be observed most clearly in areas with low light pollution.
