The rainwater tinted red pouring into the sea at Sahel Sorkh (Red Beach) on Iran's Hormoz Island in Iran. This striking phenomenon stems from the island’s unique geology: volcanic soils and rocks rich in iron oxide, especially hematite. During heavy rains, runoff carries these mineral particles to the shore, deepening the beach’s already iconic hue.
