Meeting with MSME entrepreneurs: MoI UM met with MSME entrepreneurs in Sittwe

The Union Minister for Industry, Dr. Charlie Than, together with the Rakhine State Minister for Economic Affairs, U San Shwe Maung, met with MSME entrepreneurs on December 15 at the office of the Rakhine State Directorate of Industrial Supervision and Inspection in Sittwe.

During the meeting, the Union Minister stated that entrepreneurs should make systematic efforts to produce goods that meet the needs of local communities. He explained that the Ministry of Industry is coordinating with partner organizations to support the development of MSMEs by facilitating access to financial capital, technology, human resource development, and markets.

He also noted that the government has established an MSME Development Fund and is providing loans to promote MSME growth. He provided guidance on these matters and warmly greeted the MSME entrepreneurs who attended.

Subsequently, the Union Minister met with staff serving at the Rakhine State Directorate of Industrial Supervision and Inspection. He explained that laws, rules, regulations, orders, and directives are being enacted and implemented to ensure the systematic development of industries, industrial zones, and MSMEs.

He further emphasized that, in order to issue private industrial registration certificates, staff must carry out step-by-step scrutiny processes from the submission of proposals to establish enterprises through to the issuance of registration certificates, and that staff must meet the prescribed qualifications to carry out these responsibilities, etc.

The Union Minister then presented financial assistance and supplies to the staff, coordinated and addressed issues raised by staff members, and warmly met and encouraged them.

Afterwards, the Union Minister visited and inspected a model bakery enterprise and the BMG purified drinking water factory, it’s reported.
