UN chief holds talks with Sultan of Oman in Muscat

His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik has conferred Oman Civil Order (First Class) upon António Guterres, Secretary General of the United Nations (UN) during an audience at Al Barakah Palace.

The honor was bestowed in recognition of the UN Chief’s distinguished diplomatic and political role, as well as his sustained efforts in supporting conflict resolution and advancing international peace and security. On his turn, the UN Secretary General expressed his sincere appreciation for the honor. The UN Secretary General underscored the importance of the continued partnership with the Sultanate of Oman in a bid to serve stability and peace internationally.
