Ho Chi Minh stilt house opens in Thailand

A new memorial structure dedicated to late Vietnamese leader Ho Chi Minh has opened in Thailand’s Udon Thani province, where he once lived and worked. The project marks the first completed phase of an expansion of the Ho Chi Minh memorial site.

The newly built stilt house at the Ho Chi Minh Memorial Site in Udon Thani covers about 100 square metres and is modelled on the original structure at the Presidential Palace in Hanoi. A Vietnamese expatriate family living in Udon Thani fully funded the project through donations. Construction took eight months, and the site is now officially open to visitors.
