Respect Paying Ceremony: 10th ceremony of respect paying to teachers in Tatkone

10th ceremony of respect paying to teachers was held at No. (1) Basic Education High School in Nay Pyi Taw Tatkone Township on Sunday.  At the ceremony , Chairman of the Working Committee on Information and Development of a Resilient and Strong Social Community, Union Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn , and Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture U Tin Oo Lwin attended the ceremony, together with Senior teachers aged 60 to 80 and former students.

Firstly, the students paid homage to the senior teachers, followed by the speeches of the Organizing Committee Chairman and the Secretary on the purpose of the ceremony. Union Ministers U Maung Maung Ohn and U Tin Oo Lwin then extended greetings.

The ceremony also included presenting of MRTV DTH Satellites, related equipments and souvenirs to senior teachers of aged 75 and above, and Text books and learning tools to the students, as well as the lucky draw program. Originally established as the Basic Education Primary School in 1946, the school was upgraded as the Middle School level in 1952 and High School level in 1957.

The school has nurtured the outstanding students including the Luyechun and all subject distinction winners at the matriculation exam. Currently, 1,924 students are attending at the school under the guidance of 72 teachers. It is learnt that the Respect Paying Ceremony of the school has been held every three year.
