Flavours of Sri Lanka 2025 : Chief Minister attends the event in Yangon

The Embassy of Sri Lanka in Myanmar hosted the “Flavours of Sri Lanka 2025” event in Yangon on December 6.

Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein, regional ministers, officials from foreign embassies in Yangon, and invited guests attended the ceremony. At the opening, the Chief Minister U Soe Thein, regional ministers, Sri Lankan Ambassador to Myanmar Mrs. Prabashini Ponnamperuma, and Indian Ambassador to Myanmar Mr. Abhay Thakur jointly lit traditional Sri Lankan oil lamps.

A two-minute silence was then observed for the Sri Lankan people recently affected by natural disasters. Ambassador Ponnamperuma delivered the welcome remarks. This was followed by traditional Myanmar–Sri Lanka cultural performances. A video presentation showcasing Sri Lankan traditional cuisine production was also screened at the event.
