Work Undertakings : Chief Minister tours in Myitkyina

Kachin State Chief Minister U Khet Htein Nan met with state ministers and department officials in Myitkyina on December 5, to discuss plans for food security and edible oil production, including expanding summer paddy, monsoon paddy, and oil crop cultivation.

He stressed the need to present accurate field data  and work to increase crop yields. Officials reported that 490,000 acres of monsoon paddy planted this year, with 365,084 acres already harvested by the end of November.

The meeting also discussed plans to expand summer paddy and winter oil crops, including seed distribution, local meat and fish production, and plans to improve rice mills and oil mills. The Chief Minister then visited the District Election Commission Office where voter lists for Myitkyina and Waingmaw were being checked.

He observed the verification process and provided cash assistance to the staff. He then visited  the Ye Kyi Chaung sluice gate construction site to attend a Christmas event organized by the Irrigation Department and Evangelical Fellowship Association.

  He also viewed the ongoing construction work, and instructed for timely completion of the tasks, meeting the set standard. Later, he held a meeting with officials from Myanmar Agribusiness Public Corporation (MAPCO) to discuss plans to build a modern 120-ton-per-day rice mill in Myitkyina.

Coordination for land acquisition and legal procedures is underway. Additionally, the Chief Minister and party distributed 1 viss of cooking oil, instant noodles, and beans to staff at the State Government Office as part of a support program.
