Support for Sports : Training for SEA Games and donation for sports

Chairman of the Myanmar Olympic Committee, Union Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs and Hotels and Tourism Jeng Phang Naw Taung, accompanied by departmental officials, inspected the condition of athletes undergoing training in Yangon for the upcoming 33rd SEA Games.

On arrival at the Institute of Sports and Physical Education (Yangon) sports ground in Tamwe Township, the Union Minister and party oversaw the wushu athletes practicing various techniques and categories, provided cash rewards and instructed on strict adherence to the guidance of coaches and instructors, systematic training process, emphasizing on mental and physical health of the atheletes to grab gold medals in upcoming SEA Games.

At cane ball ground, the Union Miniser encouraged the athletes to achieve best outcomes in upcoming 33rd SEA Games and provided honorary cash awards. Next, the Union Minister inspected the training process of Pancak Silat athletes, encouraged them to make exerted efforts to obtain significant results in the 33rd SEA Games to raise the prestige of the nation.

He also instructed on the physical and mental fitness of the athletes. Then, the Union Minister had lunch together with the students. On the same day, the Union Minister attended the donation ceremony organized by Chinese Embassy in Myanmar at the Institute of Sports and Physical Education (Yangon).

Chinese Ambassador to Myanmar Ms. Ma Jia made clarifications on purpose of the donation which is to provide requisite assistance for the development of Myanmar’s Sports Sector. The Union Minister expressed words of appreciations for the donations.

During the ceremony, cash awards were presented to Myanmar Wushu Federation, Myanmar Rowing Federation, Myanmar Sepak Takraw Federation, and Myanmar Football Federation. Then, the Union Minister presented honorary certificate to the Chinese Ambassador to Myanmar in return and enjoyed the demonstration of cane ball and wushu athletes.
