Pope Leo says AI may threaten youth’s freedom, reflection, and growth

Pope Leo XIV highlighted how “new generations must be helped, not hindered, on their path to maturity and responsibility,” especially when it comes to their relationship with new technologies and artificial intelligence.

He was addressing participants in the Conference “Artificial Intelligence and Care for Our Common Home” on Friday. Pope Leo invited his audience to teach young people how to use these new technologies with their own intelligence in order to search for truth and broaden their decision-making.
