Inspection of Selling Food Items: Mon State CM inspected selling food items in reduced price

Through the arrangements of the Mon State Government, the Development Affairs Committee, Consumer Affairs Department, Fisheries Department, the Rice Millers Association, and the Oil Traders and Oil Millers Association have been collaborating to sell food items to the public at reduced and affordable prices.

On the morning of  December 3, Mon State Chief Minister U Aung Kyi Thein, together with State Ministers and responsible officials, visited Mawlamyine University, where farmers, livestock breeders, producers, distributors, rice millers, oil millers, and traders were selling rice, cooking oil, meat, fish, eggs, and vegetables at reasonable prices. They observed and encouraged the activities.

After that, the Chief Minister instructed all producers within the state to ensure adequate production of essential commodities and to regulate prices so that these basic goods can be sold to the public at the most appropriate rates.

Next, the Chief Minister visited and encouraged teachers, staff members, their families, and resident students of Mawlamyine University, who were peacefully and happily purchasing essential food items being sold at fair prices.

A ceremony to commemorate the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, which falls on 3rd December 2025, was held at the State Hall in Mawlamyine. The Mon State Chief Minister U Aung Kyi Thein attended the event and delivered opening remarks.

Afterward, the Chief Minister, together with the Chief Justice of the State High Court and State Ministers, presented honorary awards to outstanding athletes with disabilities who had won prizes in various sports competitions in honor of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities 2025. They also watched song and dance performances presented by children with disabilities. State Ministers also presented honoraria to the performers. The Chief Minister then toured the commemorative exhibition displaying documentary photos related to the International Day of Persons with Disabilities.

Additionally, Mon State Chief Minister U Aung Kyi Thein, along with State Government Ministers and officials, visited the Mon State Hluttaw Office located in Bo Kone Ward, Mawlamyine, where they inspected the cleanliness and systematic maintenance of the building’s interior and exterior, giving necessary instructions for improvements.

The Chief Minister then continued to inspect the meeting hall, conference room, reception hall, and rest areas of the Mon State Hluttaw Office, meeting with responsible officials and coordinating necessary support and arrangements.
