







The handover ceremony of tools and training completion certificates for the "Project for Creating Small-Scale Production Businesses and Increasing Household Income in Rural Areas," implemented by the Department of Small-Scale Industries under the Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural Development, was held at the meeting hall of the General Administration Department in Tatkone Township, Nay Pyi Taw Council on December 2.
Union Minister U Hla Moe attended and delivered the opening address. First, Union Minister U Hla Moe stated that the Ministry is striving to promote the emergence of small-scale agro-based production businesses and is committed to the socio-economic development of rural families, to provide support for basic rural needs such as food, clothing, shelter, transport connectivity, rural water supply, electrification, support for production businesses, and access to agricultural inputs, in accordance with state policies and directives.
He noted that today's ceremony for awarding certificates and tools will provide sewing machines and related equipment to outstanding trainees who will establish their own businesses. He urged the trainees to not only utilize the lessons taught but to further study to produce even better garments. He also encouraged those interested in fashion design to strive to attend courses at the Saungda Weaving and Vocational Institute, among other remarks.
Following this, the Union Minister and officials presented sewing machines and related equipment to project graduates from Shaukkone and Makyeepin villages in Tatkone Township, and from Pawsankhaw and Setyon villages in Pyinmana Township. The Director-General awarded the training completion certificates.
Subsequently, the Union Minister visited the "Hla" cotton ginning factory and power loom factory of the "Hla" Yarn Production Cooperative Society in Tatkone Township, observed the ongoing operations, and coordinated and provided necessary support. In the afternoon, the Union Minister attended and delivered the opening address at the operational coordination meeting of the Leading Committee for Urea Fertilizer Purchase, Distribution, and Sale, held at the Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural Development, Office No. (16). Following that, the Secretary of the Leading Committee, Permanent Secretary U Khant Zaw, explained the tonnages approved for distribution from October to December, the tonnages distributed in September under the crop-based payment system, and related ongoing operations.
A representative from the Myanmar Fertilizer, Seed, and Agricultural Input Entrepreneurs Association separately explained the current purchase, distribution, and sale of urea fertilizer and pesticides. Subsequently, Leading Committee members Deputy Ministers supplemented the discussions with necessary clarifications.
Then, representatives from the various departments who are members of the Leading Committee collectively explained and discussed the operations in their respective sectors. The Union Minister delivered concluding remarks and coordinated to fulfill necessary requirements, it’s reported.
