






Chairman of the State Security and Peace Commission and Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, accompanied by Commander-in-Chief (Navy) Admiral Htein Win, Commander-in-Chief (Air) General Htun Aung, entourage members, Commander of Central Command and responsible officials, visited and inspected the construction status of veteran housing in Pyin Oo Lwin Township in the morning on December 2.
First, Quartermaster General Lt-Gen Zaw Hein and responsible officials briefed the SSPC Chairman Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services at the briefing hall. They explained the expansion of veteran housing construction year by year according to the budget, the status of allocating housing to veteran association members and their families, and the ongoing work status. In response to the briefing, the SSPC Chairman Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services instructed that completed housing units should be systematically allocated to veteran association members and their families.
He emphasized the need for systematic supervision to ensure construction of buildings is completed within the stipulated timeframe and meets quality standards. He also directed to include spaces for physical exercise and sports within the housing complex for the health benefit of residents, and to ensure multi-story buildings are properly designed and constructed to withstand natural disasters.
He gave further necessary guidance. Subsequently, the SSPC Chairman Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services and entourage members toured inside the veteran housing estate, inspecting the area. They warmly greeted veterans and family members residing there and inquired about their needs.
It is learned that within this veteran housing estate in Pyin Oo Lwin Township, ten 4-story buildings with 2-room apartments (Other Ranks), ten 6-story buildings with 4-room apartments (Other Ranks), three 6-story buildings with 4-room apartments (Junior Officers), and one 6-story building with 4-room apartments (Senior Officers) have been completed. It is also reported that more Senior Officer, Junior Officer, and Other Ranks housing will be constructed in the future.
Afterwards, the SSPC Chairman Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services inspected the maintenance and management of the main railway station in Pyin Oo Lwin Township. Union Minister for Transport and Communications U Mya Tun Oo and responsible officials explained the cleanliness and beautification measures taken within the station, and the status of clearing and relocating individuals residing illegally and conducting business operations within the station area.
In response to the presentations, the SSPC Chairman Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services instructed them to systematically manage and organize the station area and gave other necessary guidance. He also toured inside the station for inspection, it’s learnt.
