Drum and Bugle Corps Competition: Schools Drum and Bugle Corps Competition

The opening ceremony of the Yangon Region 2025-2026 Academic Year All-Basic Education Schools Drum and Bugle Corps Competition was held at the Thuwanna National Sports Stadium (1) in Thingangyun Township, Yangon Region in the morning of December 1. Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein attended and delivered a speech.

First, the participating bands paid a salute to Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein.

Following this, the Chief Minister urged them to continuously practice in order to be able to perform not only at educational events but also at official functions. He also encouraged them to continue striving to participate in future competitions with skilled proficiency and high quality, and to compete with full sportsmanship and in accordance with discipline.

Subsequently, Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein and officials warmly greeted and met with the participating students from the bands.

Afterwards, Chief Minister U Soe Thein presented honorary cash awards for the Drum and Bugle Corps competition, which were received by Deputy Director-General Dr. Cho Cho Myat Aung from the Yangon Region Education Office.

Following that, Chief Minister U Soe Thein and officials observed and encouraged the Drum and Bugle Corps from various schools as they competed in the Yangon Region 2025-2026 Academic Year All-Basic Education Schools Drum and Bugle Corps Competition.
