









Sports activities for youth was held in front of the sports field in Myitkyina Township on November 29th. The event was held in an effort to implement Kachin State as a Drug Free Zone.
Union Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs and Hotels and Tourism, Chairman of Myanmar Olympic Committee Jeng Phang Naw Taung attended the event along with the Chief Minister U Khet Htein Nan and officials. At 6 AM in the morning, 3,000 runners participated in mini marathon competition.
Along the route, locals cheered the runners and provided refreshment foods and purified water bottles. The Union Minister, the Chief Minister and officials also welcomed the runners at the finish line, providing snack and water bottles while red cross members provided first aid services.
This was followed by prize awarding ceremony, in which the honourable trophies and cash rewards were presented to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes winner for men and women mini marathon events, as well as the oldest and youngest runners and those who ranked 1-20 during the competition.
