









Kachin State Chief Minister U Khet Htein Nan on November 27 visited Tanaing to observe local trade at the local markets and purchased vegetables, meat and fish to support displaced people.
The Chief Minister and state ministers then visited a temporary camp at the Catholic Church compound in Kin Hsar Yar Ward, where they provided food supplies for 70 households. They also presented Christmas gifts and 300,000 kyats cash assistance.
Next, the Chief Minister attended a model paddy harvesting event and distributed winter crop seeds to local farmers. He encouraged farmers to expand winter crop production and assured to support good-quality seeds, fertilizer and better roads. They then inspected ongoing village road construction and later held a coordination meeting with district and township officials, farmers, and committees involved in agriculture. Farmers reported on the need of water access, farming and market access, and the Chief Minister coordinated the needs.
In the afternoon, he met with local religious leaders, and urged them to work together for community development, peace and support for local livelihoods. The Chief Minister also visited the Myo Oo Monastery, paid respects to the presiding monk, and donated supplies for religious and community activities.
