The 83 individuals came from various townships in Mandalay Region. Officials from the Mandalay Region Government and the Central Command welcomed them. A formal handover ceremony took place at the Central Command headquarters and at the Madaya Township Administration Office.
The returnees handed over 10 M-16 rifles, 1 pistol, 3 handmade guns, 6 bombs/IEDs, 759 bullets and 18 magazines. Reward payments amounted to 594.5 million kyats were presented to the returnees, along with other assistance. The individuals were then returned to their families.
