







Acting President and Chairman of the State Security and Peace Commission Senior General Min Aung Hlaing welcomed Mr. Aleksandr Lukashenko, President of the Republic of Belarus with Guard of Honor at Presidential Palace in Nay Pyi Taw on 28th November.
On arrival of the visiting Belarusian President at the Presidential Palace, escorted by honorary equistrian force and the presidential motorcade, the Acting President extended a warm welcome to his counterpart. Then, the two leaders proceeded to the honorary stage and received the salute of the Guard of Honor as well as the 21-gun salute.
Next, they inspected the guard of honour and introduced the attendees from two nations. Afterward, the two leaders held a separate meeting.
The Acting President highlighted the diplomatic relations between the two nations which has reached 26 years and said this is the historic visit of the Belarusian President during diplomatic relations between the two countries.
Appreciating Belarus’s firm support for Myanmar’s stance in international arena, the Acting President called for constant and friendly assistance of Belarus in Myanmar’s effort to join shanghai cooperation organization, BRICS and EAEU.
For his side, the Belarusian President expressed his appreciation for Myanmar’s genuine and warm hospitality and emphasized on strengthening friendship and cooperation across various sectors including industry, pharmaceutical, education and agriculture. He also assured Belarus’s assistance in promoting military and trade sector and further implementation of bilateral cooperation promotion road map (2026-2028).
The meeting also focused on Myanmar’s strenuous efforts in eliminatin illegal online gambling and scams in border areas, sending Belarusian experts and observers for the upcoming 2025 multiparty democracy general election.
