Strengthening Cooperation: Meeting with the Belarusian delegation

Union Minister for Health Dr. Thet Khaing Win received the Belarusian Minister for Health Mr. Aliaksandr Khajayeu and Minister for Agriculture Yury Horlau in Nay Pyi Taw on 27th November.

During the meeting, both sides cordially exchanged views on expanding cooperation in producing diagnostic and laboratory equipment under the 2013 MoU between the two Health Ministries.  They discussed collaboration in medical education, postgraduate training, public health research, fast-track drug registration for Belarus-made products and opportunities for food exports to Myanmar. Talks also covered producing First Aid Medical Boxes and emergency bandages in Myanmar and strengthening medical services, including liver transplantation and expert exchanges. The two sides considered further cooperation in training, telemedicine, and maternal and newborn health.

The meeting also noted the recently signed academic agreement between University of Medicine (1), Yangon, and Belarus State Medical University, which includes plans for advanced courses, seminars and exchange programs.
