Foreign Suspects Arrested: Illegal buildings demolished in KK Park

Myanmar authorities continue joint operations in Shwe Kokko and KK Park in Myawady Township to crack down on online scam and illegal gambling activities.

On Wednesday, security forces demolished 9 more illegal buildings in the KK Park Zone 3 area. Out of 635 illegal buildings in the zone, 246 have now been destroyed. In Shwe Kokko, inspections were carried out in 41 buildings, and no new scam-related equipment was found.

However, authorities arrested 195 illegal foreign nationals, hiding in the area. So far, operations in Shwe Kokko have uncovered 2,042 illegal foreign nationals, along with 3,098 computers, 21,750 mobile phones, 102 Starlink devices, routers, and other equipment used in online scam operations. Confiscated items are being systematically destroyed.

The newly arrested individuals are being held at a secured facility in Shwe Kokko for identity verification, and arrangements are being made to repatriate them to their home countries.

From January 30 to now, Myanmar has detained 12,882 illegal foreign nationals, with 10,029 already repatriated via Thailand. Another 2,853 are awaiting return. The government stated it will continue working with neighboring countries to eliminate online scams and illegal gambling operations in Myanmar.
