Pardon from Prison Terms: NDSC granted pardon from prison terms

The National Defense and Security Council granted remission and pardon with Order No. 11/2025 on November 26. The Order described that the National Defense and Security Council is prioritizing efforts to ensure that the entire population can successfully advance toward the multi-party democracy system that the people desire.

To achieve this, the Council is implementing its plans with the aim of carrying out these processes effectively through public cooperation. In order to ensure that all eligible voters in the upcoming multi-party democracy general election do not lose their right to vote and are able to cast their votes freely and fairly, a total of 2,361 prisoners who had been clearly convicted under Section 505(a) of the Penal Code and were serving their sentences in various prisons, detention centers and labor camps have been granted remission and released from the remaining portions of their sentences under Section 401, Sub-section (1) of the Criminal Procedure Code.
