Rising industrial accident deaths

A long string of deaths occurred at workplaces across Korea this year. Up until September, 457 people died while working at industrial sites. A fire at the Banyan Tree Resort construction site in Busan, took the lives of six workers, while four workers were killed in a Sejong-Anseong Expressway bridge collapse.

More recently, seven workers lost their lives when a boiler tower collapsed at the Ulsan thermal power plant. Fourteen more people died compared to the same period last year.
