Award Ceremony for PwD Athletes: Mon State Chief Minister attended the ceremony

In honor of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, which falls on December 3, 2025, the Mon State Youth Affairs Committee organized an awards ceremony for an athletics competition for persons with disabilities. The ceremony was held on November 25 at the Ramanya Sports Ground in Mawlamyaing.

Mon State Chief Minister U Aung Kyi Thein, the State Chief Justice, state ministers, officials, and sports enthusiasts attended. The Chief Minister, the State Chief Justice, and state ministers presented first, second, and third-place prizes to the athletes according to competition categories, and the Chief Minister warmly greeted and encouraged the award-winning athletes with disabilities.

In the morning on November 26, the Mon State ceremony for the reading of papers on environmental conservation and the preservation and promotion of cultural heritage was held at the Multipurpose Hall of Mawlamyaing University, where the Chief Minister delivered opening remarks.

After that, Dr. Kyin Swam, retired Professor and Head of the Department of Geography at Mawlamyaing University, read a paper on the traditional deity worship ceremony of Kaunhnat ကော့နှပ် Village in Mawlamyaing Township.

Following this, the Chief Minister warmly greeted the paper reading authors, and the authors read a total of eight papers.

With the aim of promoting the development of the sports sector in Mon State and in honor of the students of the Institute of Sports and Physical Science (Mawlamyaing), a special luncheon ceremony was held in the afternoon of November 26, at the Institute of Sports and Physical Science (Mawlamyaing). The Mon State Chief Minister, who is also the Patron of the Institute’s Board of Trustees, delivered a congratulatory speech.

Afterward, the Chief Minister presented cash award to the students, and the State Minister for Social Affairs returned certificates of honor.

Then, the Chief Minister joined the students of the Institute of Sports and Physical Science (Mawlamyaing) for lunch in a friendly and cordial atmosphere, and it is noted that he warmly bid farewell to the students.
