Ceremony of Honoring Athletes: Yangon Region CM delivered the congratulatory speech

The ceremony to honor the outstanding athletes who achieved first place with championship trophies from Yangon Region in the 2025 Regions and States Sports Competitions was held on November 25 at the Mingalar Hall of the Yangon Region Government Office, attended by the Patron of Yangon Region Sports and Physical Education Committee and Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein.

First, a video clip documenting Yangon Region’s participation in the 2025 Regions and States Sports Competitions was shown.

After that, the winning sports teams who had earned men’s, women’s, and overall championship trophies respectively handed over their trophies to the Patron of Yangon Region Sports and Physical Education Committee and Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein.

Next, Chief Minister U Soe Thein delivered a congratulatory speech and presented honorary cash awards to the sports teams that won prizes in the rowing and volleyball competitions.

Following this, Chairman of Yangon Region Sports and Physical Education Committee and Yangon Region Minister for Social Affairs U Htay Aung explained and reported on Yangon Region’s participation status in the 2025 Regions and States Sports Competitions.

Afterwards, the Chairperson of the Yangon Region Women’s Sports Subcommittee, the spouse of the Yangon Region Chief Minister, along with members of the region government, presented honorary cash awards to the prize-winning teams in the judo, taekwondo, track and field, pole vault, Myanmar traditional boxing, futsal, football, tennis, bodybuilding and physique, aerobics, and billiards & snooker competitions.

Then, a Taekwondo athlete representing Yangon Region expressed words of gratitude, and the Chief Minister and officials warmly greeted the athletes and officials, it’s reported.
