US envoy urges Sudan warring sides to accept ceasefire proposal

President Donald Trump’s Africa envoy, Massad Boulos, said neither side in Sudan’s conflict has accepted a new ceasefire proposal put forward by Washington on behalf of mediators. Boulos urged both parties to agree to the plan without preconditions, emphasizing the urgent humanitarian situation.

Massad Boulos, Trump's Africa envoy said  "We have appealed and we have asked repeatedly the two parties to accept this humanitarian truce as presented without any preconditions."

Boulos added that officials are in daily contact with both Sudan’s army and the Rapid Support Forces, stressing the need to ensure humanitarian access amid rising malnutrition and suffering.
