





The Chairman of the Myanmar Olympic Committee, Union Minister for Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs and Ministry of Hotels and Tourism, Jeng Phang Naw Taung, chaired a coordination meeting focused on ensuring the success of the sports teams representing Myanmar at the 33rd Southeast Asian Games and achieving the targeted medals, at the meeting hall of the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs in Office No. (31), Nay Pyi Taw, on November 25.
First, the Union Minister delivered the opening remarks. He stated that for the 33rd Southeast Asian Games, to be held from December 9 to 20, 2025, in Bangkok, Chonburi ချွန်ဘူရီ, and Songkhla ဆုန်ခလာ, Thailand, it is necessary to prepare, review, and systematically assign operational responsibilities in advance, by relevant sectors.
This pertains to ensuring the victory of the Myanmar teams, achieving the anticipated medals per sport, and administrative matters during the competition period (such as accommodation, meals, training, welcome and accommodation arrangements, individual athlete healthcare, and medical check-ups).
Subsequently, the Directors-General, Deputy Permanent Secretaries, Deputy Directors-General, Assistant Secretaries, and responsible Directors from department divisions attending the meeting presented and discussed matters related to their respective assigned sectors, including office operational matters and work plans.
The Deputy Minister supplemented the discussions regarding the requirements related to the office operations supporting the Myanmar sports teams' success and medal achievements.
Following this, the Union Minister concluded the meeting, emphasizing the need for coordinated efforts across relevant sectors to achieve the important objective and duty of the Ministry, ensuring success at the 33rd Southeast Asian Games, winning the expected medals, and successfully holding the December Mass Walk and the 78th Independence Day Commemorative Sports Competitions. He also addressed and fulfilled the presented issues, challenges, and requirements.
