Opening of 150-ton Rice Mill : MCRD UM attended the ceremony

The opening ceremony for the 150-ton rice mill, a collaborative effort between the Mandalay Region Cooperative Society and Agri Sun Company, was held at Plot No. (590) in Patheingyi Township, Mandalay Region on November 25. Union Minister for Cooperatives and Rural Development U Hla Moe, Mandalay Region Government Chief Minister U Myo Aung, Region Government ministers, the President of the Myanmar Rice Federation, the President of the Mandalay Region Cooperative Society, and responsible officials attended the ceremony.

First, the Region Government ministers and responsible officials cut the ribbon to open the 150-ton rice mill. Subsequently, the Union Minister and the Region Chief Minister pressed a button to unveil the ceremony signboard and, together with the officials, sprinkled scented water on the commemorative stone inscription.

Following this, the Union Minister delivered a speech. He stated that the Royal Ruby Flower 150-ton rice mill, opened today through the collaborative efforts of the Mandalay Region Cooperative Society Union and Agri Sun Company, is one of the high-level rice mills operating within Mandalay Region. He mentioned having held repeated discussions with relevant officials regarding its establishment through the cooperative sector. He further said that the mill would greatly help ensure that paddy produced from the farmlands of local farmers in Mandalay Region is utilized without waste, gains market access, improves the socio-economic lives of basic farmer families, increases their household income, ensures regional food sufficiency, and creates job opportunities.

Next, Mandalay Region Government Chief Minister U Myo Aung explained the efforts made to realize the 150-ton rice mill, the mill's operational capacity, its ability to process high-quality rice for export, and how it is contributing to increasing the household income of farmers within the Region.

Afterwards, the President of the Mandalay Region Cooperative Society explained the background of the 150-ton rice mill project, the employment situation for graduates from the Cooperative College and the vocational accounting training school at this mill, the construction status of the 150-ton rice mill, and the situation regarding rice mill construction across the entire nation.

Subsequently, the Union Minister, the Region Chief Minister, and officials proceeded to attend the foundation stone laying ceremony for a 120-ton rice mill to be jointly constructed by the Mandalay Region Cooperative Society and Aung Tha Zin Cooperative Society Limited. They laid the foundation stones at the designated locations.

It is also reported that the Union Minister later inspected the operations of the San Wadi Dairy Plant, the production of natural fertilizers, the PanYoMa purified water plant, attended the tarred road opening ceremony in Nandar (North) Model Modern Village in Patheingyi Township, visited the Cooperative College to inspect the damage caused by the Mandalay earthquake, and provided necessary instructions and guidance to the responsible officials.
