In accordance with the slogan "Let's All Cooperate to Eliminate Digital Violence Against Women," a ceremony to commemorate the 16 Days of Activism for the Elimination of Violence Against Women was held on November 25 in the City Hall of Dawei, Tanintharyi Region.
At the ceremony, Region Chief Minister U Myat Ko stated that promoting the rights, capabilities, and qualities of women, who make up more than half of the country's population, recognizing them, and proactively addressing the difficulties and obstacles faced by young girls and women contributes to national development and enhances human resources. He emphasized that Region, District, and Township Women's Committees, women's organizations, and relevant departments and organizations need to further intensify efforts to prevent all forms of violence, including digital violence against women.
Following this, the Region Chief Minister presented awards to the first, second, and third prize winners of the basic education high school level essay competition, held in commemoration of the 16 Days of Activism for the Elimination of Violence Against Women. The Chairperson of the Region Women's Committee and Region Minister for Social Affairs then presented awards to the first, second, and third prize winners of the basic education middle school level essay competition.
It is further reported that a documentary video on efforts to eliminate violence against women was shown, and young children from the Dawei Pre-primary School performed to the song "Land of Our Kin."
