South Korea to host G20 Summit in 2028

South Korea will host G20 summit in 2028. President Lee Jae Myung said he will fulfill his role with a grave sense of responsibility to consolidate the G20’s position as one of the foremost forums for international economic cooperation.

On the first day of the G20 Summit, a leaders’ declaration was adopted at the proposal of the South African president. It states that Korea will undertake the presidency of the G20 in 2028, following the U.S. in 2026 and the UK in 2027. 2028 is a meaningful year as it marks the 20th anniversary of the launch of the G20 Summit.
