









Kayah State Chief Minister U Zaw Myo Tin, along with the concerned officials, attended the 2025 Kayan New Year Festival held at Kana Hay Won Park in Loikaw Township on November 21st.
First, the Chief Minister and officials unveiled the Arch of the festival by cutting the ceremonial ribbons.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said the Kayah New Year Festival observes annually for preserving traditions and culture of Kayah ethnic nationals by next generation youths while the government is emphasizing on the rights of ethnic nationals, adopting laws and by laws.
The Chief Minister also called for unity of all ethnic groups living in the nation in implementing peace and development works of the country. Subsequently, the Chief Minister presented cash rewards for the new year ceremony.
The Chairman of Kayah Literature and Culture Association accepted the cash rewards and made clarification on holding of Kayah New Year Festival. After the performances of the dance troupes, the Chief Minister and officials presented honourary cash awards to them.
Then, the audiences enjoyed the performances of famous singers. Kayah New Year festival has been observed annually on 1st Waxing of Nataw which is the first month of the year in Kayah tradition.
