Union Government Meeting: Prime Minister U Nyo Naw delivered the opening speech

The Union Government Meeting (5/2025) was held at the Meeting Hall of Office No. (18), Office of the Union Government in Nay Pyi Taw on November 19.

The Prime Minister U Nyo Saw attended and addressed the meeting. The meeting was attended by Union Ministers and responsible officials, while the Region/State Chief Ministers attended via video conference. First, the minutes of the previous Union Government Meeting No. (4/2025) were confirmed.

Following this, the Prime Minister delivered an opening address. He stated that they are striving to ensure stability in the nation's political, economic, social, and electoral affairs. He noted that currently, some major Western powers and countries under their influence are implementing economic sanctions and using media to launch attacks against our country.

Regarding these actions, he mentioned that during regional organization meetings and summit meetings attended by the Head of State, as well as during goodwill visits to major world powers, they have been able to meet and discuss with numerous international leaders to explain and refute these claims.

He stated that currently, transnational crimes and border-based armed groups, in collusion with international criminal organizations, are committing casino and online gambling activities in the border areas. The government is effectively taking action to crack down on these activities.

He emphasized that in the border areas of Kayin State, they are vigorously clearing out and removing gambling groups that have firmly established themselves and are committing online fraud scams, treating this as a national duty.

He added that it is necessary for the relevant ministries and responsible officials in those territories to cooperate and work together so that the international community can accurately understand Myanmar's current situation and ongoing efforts.

In addition, The Prime Minister provided detailed explanations and gave guidance on matters related to illegal trade, narcotic drugs, the national economy, the agricultural sector, the industrial sector, MSMEs, the education sector, the health sector, the sports sector, planning, and elections.

Subsequently, the attending Union Ministers read out and explained the order-letters, and presented reports and discussions on the ongoing activities and future plans for their respective sectors. Afterwards, the Prime Minister coordinated and provided necessary support based on the presentations and discussions of the Union Ministers, delivered concluding remarks, and concluded the meeting, it is reported.
