G20 Social Summit opens in South Africa

The G20 Social Summit opened in Johannesburg, South Africa days ahead of the 22-23 November G20 summit which will see leaders of the world's leading economies convene for the summit's first time on African soil. "Building on Brazil's 2024 G20 presidency, South Africa maintains the importance of the G20 Social Summit as a vehicle for advancing the voice of civil society," said South Africa's Deputy President Paul Mashatile.
