




Excavations at the ancient city of Perre, Turkiye one of the five major cities of the Kingdom of Commagene, have concluded.
As part of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism’s Heritage for the Future Project, the 2025 excavation season—carried out by the Adıyaman Museum Directorate under the scientific supervision of Adıyaman University—has been completed. In the excavations, which have continued uninterrupted every year since 2020, a team of four archaeologists and twenty workers worked for five months.
At four different points in the ancient city—namely the Roman Fountain, the Stairway of Eternity, the sacred area, and the tomb chambers—numerous historical structures and artifacts were uncovered. The 2025 excavation season has now closed, and excavations will resume in 2026.
