


Chairman of the Union Election Commission, U Than Soe, received Ms. Ma Jia, Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Myanmar, and her delegation at the reception Hall of the UEC Office in Nay Pyi Taw on November 18.
During the meeting, the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Myanmar delivered greetings and inquired about the progress of the Union Election Commission's preparations for successfully holding the elections, matters related to advance voting, observations on election monitoring, and issues concerning election security.
Subsequently, the UEC Chairman explained the Commission's preparations for successfully conducting free and fair elections, the arrangements for eligible voters both domestically and abroad to cast advance votes in accordance with the law, the facilitation for international election observation teams, including from the People's Republic of China, and diplomats to observe the elections, and the security measures in place to ensure the safety of political parties contesting the elections, parliamentary candidates, and voters at polling stations.
They also openly and cordially discussed election-related matters. Afterwards, the commemorative gifts were exchanged, it is reported.
