Trump praises UN for Gaza peace plan, highlights “board of peace”

US President Donald Trump on Monday evening praised the U.N. Security Council’s approval of his Gaza peace plan, calling it “one of the most important things the United Nations will ever do.”

Speaking at the McDonald’s Impact Summit in Washington, Trump announced the creation of a so-called “Board of Peace,” which he said he would chair and that would include leaders of “the most important nations in the world.”

He described the board as a historic step for global diplomacy and said it was officially endorsed earlier in the day. Trump also made a lighthearted comparison, saying it might be second only to the McDonald’s corporate board.
