







On the afternoon of November 16, Tanintharyi Region Chief Minister U Myat Ko, accompanied by officials, attended the award ceremony for the Library Development and Reading Promotion Festival. The event was jointly organized by the Department of Information and Public Relations and the Department of Basic Education under the leadership of the Taninthayi Region Government, was held at the Basic Education High School in Bokepyin Township.
The Library Development and Reading Promotion Festival featured physical and intellectual capacity competitions aimed at developing the five strengths of students and youth. Over 1,200 students participated in the events. At the award ceremony, students from BEHS (Bokepyin) opened the event by singing the song "Beautiful Flowers Will Bloom."
Following this, Region Chief Minister U Myat Ko delivered the opening address.
Subsequently, a capital fund of 2.5 million Kyats was awarded for purchasing band uniforms and musical instruments for BEHS (Bokepyin). The Region Chief Minister, the Region Chief Justice, Region Ministers, and officials presented various awards to the students who won prizes in the physical and intellectual capacity competitions of the Library Development and Reading Promotion Festival. Furthermore, books and reading materials were donated for the school libraries of eight high schools within Bokepyin District, as well as specifically for the BEHS (Bokepyin) school library, which were received by the responsible officials.
Additionally, the Taninthayi Region Chief Minister and Region ministers inspected the ongoing construction of the Township Sports Gymnasium in Shwe Bontha Ward and the 4-story, 6-unit staff housing building on Lot-7 (measuring 135x25 feet). They also inspected the construction of the District Combined Office and staff housing in Aung Mingalar Ward, providing necessary guidance and instructions.
