In a major move to boost frontier tourism in India, the Sikkim government will open the border regions of Doklam and Cho La to tourists by December 15. This marks the first time civilians will be granted access to these high-security zones.

Sikkim’s Additional Chief Secretary for Tourism, C.S. Rao, confirmed that preparations are now in their final phase. By opening these previously restricted regions, the government aims to promote adventure and heritage tourism in the state.
