Celebrating Heritage: Annual Kachin traditional Harvest Festival

The annual Kachin traditional Harvest Festival took place in Myitkyina on Saturday.

Member of the State Security and Peace Commission Union Minister for Border Affairs and Ethnic Affairs Lt-Gen Yar Pyae attended the event, which is held after the rice and crops harvest. It was organized by the Kachin State Government and the Kachin Traditional Cultural Association.

The ceremony included blessing rituals by religious leaders, and speeches highlighting unity, cultural preservation, and community harmony. Union Minister Lt-Gen Yar Pyae praised the festival for promoting ethnic unity, peace, and regional development. Attendees shared traditional meals prepared from the year’s harvest.
