




Rakhine State Chief Minister U Htein Lin, together with officials, inspected development projects in Sittwe on Saturday. They visited the site on Shukhintha Road where sand-filling and concrete paving work will be carried out to create a public recreation area. Officials explained the plans, and the Chief Minister instructed to ensure proper design, good drainage, and strong construction.
Next, the Chief Minister inspected the installation of 200 tetrapods along the retaining wall near Point Recreation Center to protect against wave erosion. He observed the machinery used to transport and place the tetrapods and gave instructions. Officials reported that 300 tetrapods were installed in 2024–2025, and 200 more are being installed this year.
The Chief Minister urged for workplace safety, effective coastal protection, and proper alignment for future road expansion along the shoreline. He also emphasized for completing the work safely within the scheduled timeframe.
