AIDS campaigners gather outside France's finance ministry in Paris, projecting a video onto the building's facade to urge the government to increase its support for the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria.

The activists accuse France of pulling back from its commitments, warning that cuts to international aid could cost millions of lives. Vice-president of French NGO AIDES said the protest is for help, not one of despair, but a call to action because behind these numbers, behind these budget lines, are real lives, millions of them.
