Trump praises Syrian president's 'very good job' ahead of meeting

US President Donald Trump said Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa is "doing a very good job" ahead of a White House meeting scheduled for November 10.  Trump made the remark at the White House during a meeting with the leaders from five Central Asian countries.

US President Donald Trump will host Sharaa for talks on November 10, having said he had made "good progress" toward establishing peace in his war-torn country. Though it will be Sharaa's first visit to Washington, it will be his second to the United States after a landmark UN trip in September, where he became the first Syrian president in decades to address the UN General Assembly in New York.
