Japan and China held Defense talks

Japan’s new defense minister Koizumi Shinjiro is engaging in a flurry of diplomacy during his visit to Malaysia. This included his first meeting with China’s Defense Minister Dong Jun.

The talks took place on Saturday on the sidelines of the ASEAN Defense Ministers’ Meeting-Plus. Koizumi and Dong agreed that it is crucial for the two sides to continue communicating persistently. They confirmed that Japan and China will promote dialogue and exchanges at all levels, including between their defense authorities.
