US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth visits Viet Nam during Asia tour

US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth attended a welcome ceremony and meets with Viet Nam’s Defense Minister Phan Van Giang in Hanoi on Sunday as part of his Asia tour - his first ever visit to Vietnam. Hegseth’s visit also marked 30 years of diplomatic ties between the former foes and two years since they upgraded relations to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, Viet Nam’s highest diplomatic status.
