A seven-story apartment building collapsed in Türkiye’s Kocaeli Province

A seven-story apartment building collapsed in Türkiye’s Kocaeli Province. Four members of a five-person family lost their lives in the incident. Search and rescue teams, consisting of 627 personnel, worked through the night around the collapsed structure. Two victims were the first to be found dead.

Surrounding buildings were sealed off as a precaution, and the Gebze Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office launched a judicial investigation. Justice Minister Yılmaz Tunç said the investigation into the collapse is continuing comprehensively.
