Dozens of residents in the Gaza Strip lined up outside bank branches that reopened after a two-year closure during the Israeli assault, which had brought all financial and banking transactions to a complete halt and dealt a severe blow to the banking sector.

Several banks announced the reopening of some of their branches in Gaza earlier this week, gradually resuming banking services for the public. Among those that began limited operations are Bank of Palestine, Palestine Islamic Bank, and Bank of Jerusalem.
