Cambodia begins withdrawing heavy and destructive weapons from the Thai border on Sunday night, following a truce with Thailand that was co-signed by US President Donald Trump in Kuala Lumpur, the defence ministry said.

At least 40 people were killed during five days of open combat along the border in late July this year. The deal between Thailand and Cambodia, co-signed by Donald Trump, contains broad rhetoric confirming both countries' "unwavering commitment to peace and security".
