Pope holds talks with Lebanese PM at the Vatican

Pope Leo XIV met with Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam at the Vatican ahead of the Pontiff’s planned visit to Lebanon and Turkiye at the end of November. The meeting, held at the Secretariat of State, was described as cordial, highlighting the long-standing positive relations between the Holy See and Lebanon.

Both sides expressed satisfaction with their bilateral ties and shared anticipation for the Apostolic Journey of Pope Leo XIV to Lebanon, scheduled from 30 November to 2 December 2025. Discussions also focused on the reform and stabilization efforts underway in Lebanon, reflecting the hopes of the Lebanese people for lasting progress.
