Millions of red crabs have swamped Christmas Island for breeding season

One of the world's most unique migratory phenomenon is underway on Christmas Island. Spurred by recent rains, millions of red crabs have started their journey towards the island's rocky shores to breed. Female crabs each carrying up to 100 thousand eggs are heading to the ocean. Rangers say strategies to reduce threats to the species has seen crab numbers skyrocket.
