Women riders’ saddle up for the Swiss Cow Grand Prix

In Flumserberg of Switzerland, nine cows and their female riders’ line up at a start marked out with hay -- all hoping to claim the crown of the "Cow Grand Prix". The prizes: a 40-kilogram sack of feed for the ruminant, a traditional Alpine cowbell and a bouquet of fresh flowers for the riders in this race open exclusively to women. It is not a traditional horse race, but an all-female competition that is part of the local Alpine Cheese Market festival.
