Coffee prices are rising in New York as the global cost of beans increases, particularly from Brazil and Vietnam. Cafes such as Birch Coffee are struggling to absorb the higher costs, which have led some customers to reconsider their purchases.

Jeremy Lyman, Co-founder of Birch Coffee said "We are not going to be able to purchase coffee from Brazil the next time we do coffee, purchase coffee. So it is unaffordable, but the importer that we work with, they're, unless there's a special request, they're pushing pause on that as well. "

Customers reported reserving pricier lattes for special occasions, reflecting broader impacts on daily consumption.
